Nairobi, 17 October 2014 – IGAD Security Sector Program (ISSP) held a four days advanced regional training on “The Concepts and Investigation Techniques of Cybercrim” from 14-17 October 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya. The training is the first of its kind in the IGAD Region that grabbed the attention of high level officials. It was a unique activity that also show-cased the regional experts, specifically from Sudan, on Cybercrime and IT. The training was officially opened by Commander Abebe Muluneh, the Head of ISSP. It was chaired by Commander Tuemay Aregawi, the Head of Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) Pillar at ISSP.

Mombasa, 3 October 2014 – IGAD Security Sector Program (ISSP) held a three days regional training workshop on “Human Rights and Counter Terrorism” from 30 September to 2 October 2014 in Mombasa, Kenya. The training was conducted in collaboration with the United Nations on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC). The meeting was officially opened by Commander Abebe Muluneh, the Head of ISSP, and co-presided by Mr. Ulrich Grams from UNODC.

Bishoftu, 23 September 2014 – IGAD Security Sector Program (ISSP) convened a five days regional training workshop on Integrated Border Management (IBM) from 22nd to 26th September 2014 in Bishoftu, Ethiopia. The meeting was officially opened by Commander Abebe Muluneh, the Head of ISSP. Commander Tuemay Aregawi and Mr. Khalid Abdelrahman, the Pillar Heads of Transnational Organized Crime and Security Institutions Capacity Building, respectively, chaired the meeting.
